There was no audio and I didn't see any writing except a few headlines. I can certainly understand why those in the lower caste would want to convert to a religion which doesn't downgrade them as persons. I'm not sure what the government is doing about it, but I would imagine it has to do with the same thing that kept people slaves in the US for so many years. Slavery was begun pretty much as soon as men realized they were stronger than women.. and also stronger often than other men.. so slavery is not new to the planet.. how to get your entire country to stop? How to get the entire world to stop? That means calling on God to come and put things in order.. and He said He is going to do that when He is ready and not before.. Until then.. I assume you are talking about the caste system and the role religion has played in the matter.
Well, welcome to the %26quot;club%26quot;. The dogmatic role religion often plays in society has been the root of indivdual unrest for eons.
Younger people have %26quot;forced%26quot; a change for even longer. However, societal change is slow, the things we do in our lifetime take about 50 years for effect.

Yes its pretty shocking.
The caste system was originally based on RACE. Hinduism was introduced to India by the Aryans (Indo Europeans), and the darker skinned south indians (Saurians/Dravidians) mostly became lower caste, and the Indo Europeans the other castes.
Obviously that distinction is a little blurred now, but thats the origin of it!
I dont think Islam will help, particularly if youre a lower caste woman, you'll still be treated as an inferior.
But there are many Christians in Kerala, Goa and Assam, so perhaps the lower castes should go there and convert?
However, the caste system is primitive and backwards no doubt, and its a way of those with power keeping control of the rest of the population, as it always was!Why my motherland prevents people from making a life changing decision?
The mythology of Hinduism is definitely firing-back in this age of information and it's no wonder why wouldn't a, so called, secular government would not do all that's in its power to stop people converting to the Religions providing Justice, Equality, and Mutual Respect.
Communism against the nature collapsed as well.
