Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it " does nothing"?

for them? what would you advise a person who reads the bible and enjoys it as literature but claims not to hear the voice of God speaking in it?Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it %26quot; does nothing%26quot;?
God knows who are really sincere in studying His words, He reads our minds and sees what are rally in our minds. So He knows whom He will give wisdom and understanding to know the truth about His words. God freely give His Holy Spirit to those who ask for Him for it is the Holy Spirit who leads us to all truth.Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it %26quot; does nothing%26quot;?
Well how could one expect to read the bible and receive a life changing experience without the holy spirit? You have to ask for the holy spirit and the help of his understanding to experience that.Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it %26quot; does nothing%26quot;?
I would say, %26quot;welcome to the club.%26quot;

Some people are pre-wired by their culture to expect a holy, life-changing experience, so guess what happens? It's like the gril who goes to prom, knowing it will be a magical night - then it usually is.

It's hard to read a book that enthusiatically cheerleads for genocide and murdering babies and see it as wonderous and a swell moral guide.Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it %26quot; does nothing%26quot;?
Think about it. Many people in today's world have been hardened to any kind of miracle, their faith is lessened, and they live cynically thinking that they are justified in everything they do, good or bad. Some people can accept the Bible because they have an open mind and spirit, while others close themselves up to the fact that life will always suck.

Seriously, the bible is a spiritual book and not everything should be taken literally.Why is Bible reading a life-changing experience for some people while other claim that it %26quot; does nothing%26quot;?
Actually God Himself said that there will be people that read His word, but miss His message. Jesus, while on the earth said this about the Pharisees- they knew the Bible, but missed Jesus, whom the bible points too. Everyone who reads the Bible has the capacity to be changed by the message that it brings to the world. However, without the Holy Spirit, it will just words on a page. If a person picks up a Bible and wants to be changed they will ask God to open their hearts to the truth of God's word. When people seek God, they will find Him, because that is His desire. If the Bible does not lead the person to salvation through Christ, it's not the fault of the Bible or God- it is the choice of the person not to be changed.
