Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I'm suffering from the same thing?

How on earth do I get rid of this fear of change? Why am I so paralysed with fear just because I want to change my life for the better?I mean, where on Earth does this fear come from? Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Fear comes from thinking about the unknown. It may help us to accept change if we are aware of the reason for the change. Try to think of the positives - if you intend to change something in your life, is it going to make you feel better. Is there somebody you can discuss this with - not necessarily for them to give you advice - merely to listen to you. It is sometimes a good way for you to come up with answers yourself. Good luck and try not to be too scared of the future. Consider change as a journey, with different turnings and roads to be taken. I am sure you will reach your destination. Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
everyone fears change becuse your moving from something familiar and comfortable into the unknown and newWhy are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
I cant quite explain i to you, since english isnt my first language, but i can try.

you are human and this fear, although is smth you dont understand,is something that you yourself created.it is because you dont know whats going to happen next.even if you think its going to be better, you still know you cant be sure 100%,and that gives you the creeps-unconsciously,you start asking yourself the question-what is better, now or change?and you become insecure.another thing is,most of us are usualy stable with their lives, used to them, and changing completely, even for better,is quite scary. one way to overcome your fear-go with the flow, and dont try to change time yourself-at least that way you will blame it on fate, not on yourself! Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
its a big decision but if you have your sights set on what you know is going to be good for you then go for it the fear will vanishWhy are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
U FEAR OF CHANGES?? dude, changes can be good and sometimes can be bad..it depends on what changes u will make..if u're going to change for example..from a smoker to non-smoker..then that's A GOOD CHANGES!!..but if u're going to change from a normal guy to a fear-of-changes-guy...AND THAT's NOT GOOD,dude! just think and make ur conclusion..and try to overcalm ur FEARS..;)Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Just keep pushing your self one day you're going to say what the hell was I worried about and do it. I don't know where the fear comes from but I know the more you think about it the less you are afraid of it. Just keep pushing and you'll start to see results. Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Fear of loss can play a part in this.

Try to remind yourself that whatever you are losing is being changed for something better.

I have changed my life lots of times and in the process of doing it again (new career)

Just go for it!Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Cause it is a move to the unknown, what helps for most is planing and also sharing the feel with others seeking reassurance by someone who can and will support you in the change.

This is a basic fear in every human, but you must note that fear is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it dasnt become panic, fear makes you more awe of things makes you more careful. Just don't let it direct your life. Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Change is always hard. I think we as people like to get to a comfortable place in our lives and then stay there. Change may mean uprooting yourself and moving to a new place, breaking up with someone we know isn't really making us happy or changing our groups of friends for the better. Even though you are trying to change your life for the better, it is still hard because it means that the things or people around us will change. Starting over can be a wonderful stepping stone to a more productive life and can bring new adventures and experiences that will make us better and our lives better. I think most people like being in that comfort zone. Personally, my life has been a roller coaster of changes but most all of them have improved my life. Look at it as an exciting new chapter in your life, a new beginning and new things to experience. When we get too set in our comfort zone, our lives can become stagnant and boring. Life really is about growing and changing throughout your life. Each change can be a step closer to fulfilling your dreams and becoming a better, more knowledgeable person. Try to look at making changes as a positive in your life. Fear of change is normal, but instead of fear, try to turn that fear in to excitement about what new things will happen to you with the changes that are coming. I have found that nothing stays the same forever, not people, not the world around us, so embrace change and start a new adventure in your life for the best, Good luck to you.Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Change is an ongoing process.... It's happening right now. Each of us is aging (a change), experiencing some aspect of life (which is subtly changing us), getting fat (or thin), etc., etc. Whether you see it or not, your life is already changing with every moment that passes.

It is the mind that tries to abide in one place, trying desperately trying to hold on those things we know. To hold on to those things that provide a sense of security.

Now if you can accept that everything is already changing.... Then, accept that you can choose to influence how things change around you. If you want to change yourself.... TAKE ACTION.Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
personally, I think that I fear doing things that make me comfortable, even though I want to change, to better myself and be a better example seeing that it is hard to find a good example, It's just that I have done things so long and it some how became a part of my being happy, even though after I do things I am not happy, I don't think it's fear, I think that you are knowing what you have to let go in order to change, and that's hard, so that you may be afraid of, letting go of the old to bring in the new, and that is hard for me as I speak, real talk

It is normal to fear uncertainity and unfamiliar forthcomings which of course you dont know if what follows would be worse than the innitial.

It is like diving into unclear waters to in search of a treasure that could bring good living for the rest of your life. Even after being assured it is fine down there - and you havent seen anyone do it before.

The fear is from uncertainity and insecurity. Have you studied animals? WHEN A FOUL GETS INTO A NEW TERRAIN, IT LIFTS ONE OF ITS LEGS UP and after familiarizing itself with the place it feels safe and brings down the leg. That fear is reflex

All you need is faith. Believe in yourself, be optimistic and caurageous and know that Life itself is a risk, know that God is watchin, then TAKE THAT PLAUNGE thats the only way to find out whats in there. Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
I feel exactly the same way - whenever I think about changing something dramatic I begin to feel extremly stressed and anxious. This fear comes from the unexpected, the fear of the unknown we feel safe and secure if we follow the same routine and do the same activities. Be strong and try to change just something little each day, these small changes will soon add up and hopefully, reduce your fear when you see how far you have come!!Why are people so scared of changing their lives?I want to change mine, but I%26039;m suffering from the same thing?
Most people fear the unknown. Changing one's life is a gigantic step, one never knows let alone be sure of whether the change will end up being better, or worse; the latter possibility is the root of the fear.

  • Important life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?

I dont know if I'm just tripping out but I have the most life-changing question. Out of my immediate family, my father, mother, sister and I all have similar features, even though my parents are not related at all. We all have similar facial/body figures:big noses, big forheads, and small ears. And every cousin I have looks very similar to their siblings. Is this just a genetics or a coincidence or does this mean my family are very closely related to monkeys :S? Like are there people who are more closely related and are decendents of monkeys? Is there such thing or am i just tripping out ? =SImportant life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?
    That phenomenon, which is not a rare thing, is called anthropomorphism, by adaptative mechanisms, in non genetic related families, all the members of the group, if living together during a liferime (and children since early childhood after birth), will %26quot;adapt%26quot; morphologically themselves, to the morphlogy of non biological parents or siblings.}

A lot of debate has arose from this issue in the past 2 years, because the mechanism od the physical (sometimes extreme and uncanny) resemblance, is still put to the test, and some of the mechanisms that explain this undeniable phenomenon, are not still very clear.

The only thing that can be said for sure, is that this is a REAL phenomenon, (perhaps an adaptative mechanism of the human race in adverse conditions), that can explain the whole issue.

The curious example in middle east, and Latin America, is that, the color of the skin of child adopted from bith, DO CHANGE, when later compared with true biological siblings, tending to resemble more or less that one of the adopting parents....... every solution brings new problems and questions...By the way (sorry to dissapoint You), this phenomenon has nothing to do, with man being closely related to monkeys, or any relation with simian evolution, as far as I know....Important life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?
You are no closer to monkeys than anybody else. There probably just isn't much variation in the phenotypes of your parents.Important life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?
You are just tripping out!Important life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?
You can not be any closer to monkeys than anyone else. In his book %26quot;The Ancestor's Tale%26quot; Dawkins postulated how close ancestors have to be to be able to mate and have fertile offspring, I think he suggested about 200,000 years. Our common ancestor with the monkey lived about 15 million years ago, and with apes about 7 million years ago. Our chromosomes have been drifting apart for that many years, so the chances of you being closely related are impossible. There would have to have been serious inbreeding to maintain those chromosomes as monkey-like enough to retain the looks, while still taking on the evolutionary advances in intelligence etc.

So, in short, it is coincidence. If your parents come from the same area of the world originally, perhaps they have a common descendant a few generations ago, not enough to qualify as consanguinity, but with some features carried through. Do a family tree to find out, if you can.

And find a partner who lives in a different part of the country, just to be sure.Important life changing question, need reliable information/facts/opinions?
Your family is no more closely related to apes, than mine. Individual physical characteristics result from genetic recombination, which happens during meiosis, a special type of cell division that occurs during formation of sperm and egg cells and give them the correct number of chromosomes. Each cell contributes one half of their chromosomes which result in the total number in the nucleus of the zygote of 46. Twenty three from each parent.

Assortment takes place for each of the 23 pairs of human chromosomes. So any single human egg receives one of two possiblee chromosomes 23 times and the total number of different possibl chromosome combinations is over 8 million. (2 raised to the 23rd power) And that's just for the eggs. The same random assortment goes on as each sperm cell is made. Thus, when a sperm fertilizes an egg, the resulting zygote contains a combinations of genes arranged in an order that has never occurred before, and will never occur again.

Why doesn't *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?

Some of you said people pray to GOD because they Hope he exists then they won't be afraid of morality/death they hope he exists and this will help them not be afraid anymore...

If that is the cause why don't we see more billions of people depending on Humankind to change there life? Is that what many people who ascribe to the Democrat way of thinking, (Atheists and Liberals) Is this the *Hope* they have... *Hope* and *Dependance* on the government to do for me. change my life make it better because I can see the Government, rather than GOD who I cannot see a GOD who says in Philippians 4:13 In Christ I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord at hand.

Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Phl 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Do you see MAN or GOD changing humankind for the GOOD?Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
Well, I've seen what amazing things God has done in my life, things I never could fix on my own, so I trust in Him. I've seen what man does, and most of it is destructive. Man will always disappoint you, because man is not perfect. I've seen man do some good, true, but overall, only God's version of help is ultimately good. God's ways are perfect beyond our imagination. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
what? Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
    Only the Lord can.

Humankind will always be sinful by nature.

When people allow their hearts to be changed by Christ, then and only then will they be able to decipher true wrong from true right......because now they will have the guidance of the Holy SpiritWhy doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
Some people just do things to better themselves. even if it doesnt consider benefiting the rest of humankind. even if it is really bad, so long as they feel better thats good for them

Its quite common. everyone does it.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
Actually that kind of hope has caused me to change my life for the good. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I'm trying to change myself for the better all the time. That's what alchemy is all about. Just a side note, I am the brother of hope and joy, and the son of faith, and yes, those are my sisters and mother, lol. %26quot;coincidence%26quot;? I think not.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
You're absolutely right. But I think you'll get a lot of negative responses. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I feel that it does, and I've seen evidence of that many times. Some people claim to have hope, but they've no idea what that means. They expect God to drop showers of blessings on them, while they sit and receive them. Hope is something we hold within us and keeps us on task. We have to work at keeping hope and at fulfilling our own hopes. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
...ugh, Crimmy, you get stupider every time you post here.

Basically, you have just said that the human race is utterly hopeless unless we all back your fantasy. So according to you there is no hope of humanity ever improving itself? What a sad life you must lead if you think that. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
how can a non existent god change anything for goodness sake?

this world of ours is dominated by us, the evolved branch of ape mammal with the developed brain. any changing to be done to the earth, be it good or bad, has to come from us.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
For sure . My God . Man will fail us.

GOD BLESSWhy doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I see God changing it, and I've seen it a lot and its amazing! I don't hope there is a God out there some where, I Know there is and He has been there for me, and has brought me out of so much hurt! He's loving and kind and will always love me no matter what. He is the one I depend on for Everything! and I love him! :)Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
god may inspire man, but man has to do the work. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
Man can never change all of humankind for the good because man believes he has choices. Once Man understands that the only way to peace and good is through harmony with God, they will change.

I hope this helps. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
According to God, man has no hope outside of Christ. Man is foul, rebellious, and doesn't understand what spiritual things are unless God gives to knowledge.

I agree with God about that. All hope for mankind is in God.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I hope to 'GOD' you are just a troll.

You're thinking is full of fallacies. I depend on humankind to change my life...I earn money and make a living by providing goods and/or services to other humans, I obtain great value from relationships with family and friends.

I don't waste time praying, since I have power over what I can change, and apathy over what I can't. Quit praying to 'GOD', and get a 'JOB'.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I see God can change humankind for the greater good by way of studying the bible, learning more about Christ, and his ways and slowly becoming more spiritually mature, putting off the old man(mans ways) and putting on the new man in Christ.

In the bible study I belong to under a pastor who teaches from org language, and dispensations, isagogics etc... you get a clear view of what was going on in the time the verse was written, a clear understanding of the parables etc... and of course you must have used 1John 1:9 prior to studying to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I believe with in depth daily study ( 1/2 hour to an hour daily) one will change over time. I believe it because I too have changed since I started studying Gods word and although I think that people can change for the good without God, it really is much harder, and is considered human-good instead of divine good. If you are using human principles and ideology of the cosmos, rather than divine principles from Gods word. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
People now a days set their eyes on material things, money, power, success. Yet miltimillionaires and successful wallstreet execs commit suicide at the first sign of trouble. Many superstars have success and fame, yet are addicted to every kind of substance out there. Every man no matter how wonderful still has the capacity for sin.Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
The Bible says that God will not change mankind for good, but will change individual that He will save for good.

There is no hope for humankind as a whole because they Bible says that everything will be destroyed in the end. But for the individual true believers there there is still hope for salvation. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
    Human depravity.

We are doomed creatures without Christ, and spiritually speaking dead without regeneration. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
Because sense the dawn of time man has lead man to his destruction, and they never fail. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?
I see both man and God changing humanity for the good. I don't think that God will help us if we don't help ourselves and I don't think we are deserving of God's help if we don't help those who cannot help themselves.

Crimmy, you seem to be under the notion that Democrats are non-religious and all dependent on the system. I am a liberal Democrat. I have never received government assistance, other than in the form of student loan guarantees. I am also a person of faith. I see no contradiction between my faith and religion. In fact, I would feel a cognitive dissonance if I became a conservative Republican with my fundamental beliefs. Be careful with broad generalizations, because they might not be true.

Since you like Biblical quotes, I would offer another one for consideration: %26quot;Justice, justice shall you pursue%26quot; (Deuteronomy 16:20). I would argue that providing for the needy is one of the highest forms of social justice. I would understand where you'd disagree on that point. Why doesn%26039;t *Hope* in man cause people to change there life for the good?

I have seen some pretty interesting things take place in someone's life that is fairly close to me. After she found her salvation and started reading the bible, she started writing a book. I belong to the Salvation Army which is part of the mainstream Evangelical Church. There are countless people who have received Christ as Saviour who have had their lives turned around. Alcoholics, drug addicts etc, even ordinary people. God loves the world and everyone in it. Jesus sets the captives free of what ever the bondage's the devil has put on people.

I have seen people who were alcoholics born anew and living their lives for the Lord helping others to be free.

there have been men and women loosed from homosexuality and living normal lives.

There have been people who hated every one who were healed and set free and joy came into their lives.

I was saved from wrong relationships and given a new life in Christ. Praying for the sick, helping the lost find their way to Jesus.

we all have things we did before we met Jesus and He cleans up our lives and gives us a new reason to live. What are some positive examples you%26039;ve seen of people%26039;s lives changing because of Salvation.?
I gave up drinking and cigarettes right away by God's grace.

Jesus brought stability to my life.

John 3:16What are some positive examples you%26039;ve seen of people%26039;s lives changing because of Salvation.?
I've seen my alcoholic uncle stop drinking. He was a major alcoholic and a horrible husband who sat around in bed all day, and made his wife work.

I've seen my mom's best friend encourage people and smile brightly every day, when she had stage four breast cancer. She was the strongest person I have ever know. She herself said it was God's strength that kept her going. Her and her husband also used to be drug addicts, and God saved them from that. They've never done it since.

I've seen her son, who's only 12, lose his mom and find hope in God. He is also a very strong person.

I've seen an obnoxious boy I went to school with become a loving, thoughtful boy after God came into his life. He is the strongest witness of Jesus I know.

I've seen my sister recover from anorexia when God came into her life.

I've seen my Dad recover from a deep depression and become the leader of my family again with God's help in his life.

I could give many more witnesses, but my own life is a testimony to God's work.

I am a very stubborn hard-headed fool, but I've felt God's work in my life. He's given me a softer heart. A passion for lost souls. A desire to know everything about him. I hate to sin, and when i do i feel awful. my convictions have kept me from doing drugs when offered, from partying, and a doing multitude of other things. it may not seem like much, but with God in my life I can face anything! He molds me into the person I should be. He has never let me down.Even when I am unfaithful, he always remains faithful to me.

I think the strength of Christians to face life's sorrows is amazing. i mean anyone can be content when life is good, but like my mom's best friend?? She had cancer and she was more content then half the people i know! she was at peace with God, and that peace reflected throughout her whole life. It's incredible how God changes the very heart of us. He transforms us!What are some positive examples you%26039;ve seen of people%26039;s lives changing because of Salvation.?
Um, completely alone people gain a friend.

What book changed your view on life, or helped you during hard times?

I read Cecilia Ahern's The Gift, and although I don't think she intentionally tries to touch or change your life, it changed me. People may not think she is the kind of author whom would do so, but for me, she has.
